Facebook launches whatsapp pay in india
After a long wait, the feature of WhatsApp Pay has gone live in India. That is, now you can also transact money through WhatsApp. The company said in a tweet, 'From today, users of India will send money through WhatsApp. It is a secure method of payment and sending its money is as easy as sending a message. In fact, WhatsApp was only waiting for approval of the National Payments of Crops of India (NPCI) for this service in India, which has now been received.
What is whatsapp pay?
It is a payment service of UPI-based WhatsApp, which was testing in India since February. Now it has been released for all users. Through this, users can join their UPI-I bank accounts and send money through WhatsApp. WhatsApp supports all popular banks like HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis Bank and Airtel Payments.
What is UPI?
UPI is a real time payment system. Which is based on IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) technology. This is an additional layer above the IMPS. Which provides the convenience of cashless banking and other financial transactions.
Money transfer between two bank accounts can be done instantly by UPI. And all this work is completed without entering bank account information. For which the user only needs a VPA (Virtual Payment Address).
The full form of UPI is Unified Payment Interface. This project was started as a pilot project on April 11, 2016 by NPCI (National Payment Corporation on India) and RBI (Reserve Bank of India).
The then RBI Governor, Honorable Dr. Raghuram Ji Rajan started this project with 21 member banks. However, today there are more than 140 UPI based banks.
HOW TO SETUP WHATSAPP PAYMENT
1. First of all, go to App Store or Google Play Store and update your WhatsApp .
2.Now you have to go to the settings of WhatsApp. If the payment option is showing in the settings, then follow your settings.
3.On going to the payment section, you will get the option of New Payment and Add New Payment Method. You have to select Add new payment method.
4. Now you have to go to Add New Payment Method and select your bank.
5. You will see a list to many banks. After selecting the bank, your account will be verified. Here Verify Via SMS option will be found. This is to be selected.
6.Special thing is that your WhatsApp number and account are linked together. There should be only one number registered both in whatsapp and your bank account number , only then verification will happen.
7.After the verification, tap on the finish payment setup. Now you will get the option to setup UPI PIN as is given in other apps. It will be necessary to enter UPI PIN on every payment.
8.After the setup is complete, you will be able to send money on WhatsApp as a message.
9. You have to tap on the contact on your WhatsApp like you do for chatting.
10 .Now you have to go to the attachment icon. Amount will have to be entered by tabbing on the payment option.
11. WhatsApp Payment is not only for WhatsApp , but you can also send people whose UPI is active.
12.At the time of sending money, you can also send money by writing a note or text.
